I know of someone selling a 1988 Kubota L2850 MFWD, loader, 7' blade, 5' rough cut mower (Sunbury or something), 8speed, partial cab, and 1400 hrs. Price he's asking is $9800. With all the discussion on how "Kubotas are junk" this is a good time to find out what you all think.
Thanks.

I don't know that one persons problems with a piece of equipment relates to everyone. But I think for what you are getting it is not a bad deal. I won't factor out the hours but loan value is 5400 on a 4900hour machine, loader value is at 1850. Cab value? Blade value? Doesn't sound like it's to bad of a deal. ....

My brother in Alaska has a Kubota of that vintage.
I called him a while back when I was thinking about changing colors to ask him if he has had any problems with his tractor.
He said yes, he got up one morning several years ago and found it had a flat tire. ....

I'm just starting to look for a Kubota loader w backhoe.
Are the loan values for machines online ?
I have not yet found prices.

I am looking at at 1989 Kubota L2850 Tractor Loader Backhoe
with 1200 hours. Asking price is $19000

Does anyone know where I can go to determine if
this is a fair price?

Thanks for your help,
-Tom ....

I'm not a Kubota expert but that price seems insanely high to me for a 1989 machine with 1200 hrs. My guess is it cost less than that new. If I'm wrong I'm sure somebody will correct me. ....

My guess is that is a little high. The tractor is the equivelent to a 33 to 35 engine horsepower. The tractor sold new for 15,700 retail. ....

rezucha,
$19,000 sounds ridiculously high to me.
You can find a far newer, lower hour machine for that price.

I have an Uncle who owns a mid-80's era Kubota L2250. He uses it on a hobby farm primarily for bush hogging and snow blowing (in Buffalo, NY). It has never been kept indoors and he is one of these people that drives things 'till the wheels fall off without doing much in the line of proper maintenance. The sum total of problems he has had with his machine... recently replaced one wheel rim because the liquid calcium ballast rusted the wheel from the inside out. And that's it. Basically, it's been ridden hard and put away wet, but keeps on going. Tough little machine and it still retains a significant value. ....

Do you live in a log home? Did you build it?
Curious... I will be using this tractor to drag timbers
out of my woods to build a log home using my Logosol
mill...
